Tournament Games

Regular season is over now and we had our first tournament game.

Nathan pitched again and did great!

The other team was really good and the Cubs lost.

So, the tournament is over, but we had so much fun and Nathan looks forward to playing again.  In fact, he was asked to play on a competitive team, so practice starts up later on in the summer.  I'm sure he'll love it.

Life is good!

 

Lizards

Nothing says summer with boys like catching lizards.

Let's hope the lizard survives the encounter.
 

Wisdom Teeth

Allie got her wisdom teeth removed today.  She did great!

The removal was quick and when I went in to help her get ready to go home, the party started.  She was hilarious.  She thought she was driving a car while she was coming off the anesthesia.  She was steering, making the driving sounds and doing it all.

When we actually got in the car, she thought she was driving and she was completely stressed out that she was going to crash the car.  She started crying and trying to slam on the brakes.  Oh man, it was funny.  

When we got home, she thought there were three Charlies running up to her so she was terrified.  She was also afraid of Jason's penguins.  I guess everything looked extra large to her, so it was scary.

Jason and Nathan laughed and laughed, but then they were sweet.  Jason set her up with a penguin and a baby show.  Nathan brought her toys to play with.  She was acting like she was 3 years old.  It was so funny.  She watched baby Einstein and loved every minute of it.

Then she fell asleep and got some really good rest.  She is handling everything so great.  She says that once you've survived a tonsillectomy at her age, you can breeze through anything else.

Installs

Jacob has been helping Mike with installs lately.  This week, they had some nice ones and Jake was a big help...

...when he wasn't resting.  :)

Mike texted me that picture and it cracked me up.

 It's probably pretty hard unloading trucks while wearing a mask, but we've got to do what we've got to do during this pandemic.

Looks like he found times that he could take the mask off and relax a bit.

We Want a Pitcher

Nathan pitched today's game.  Ugh, it is so stressful.

He threw a few strikes, but he also threw a whole lot of balls.  He's learning and it's all a good thing, but it is so hard to watch from the sidelines when it's your kid who is responsible for the outcome of the game.  I know it sounds dramatic, but it is what it is.  Pitchers can make or break the game.

 We won tonight, so that's always good.  We'll see if Nathan pitches again.  I'm sure he will, so I'm going to have to learn how to chill out and relax while I watch.

Mike's Pics

Mike went up to Star Valley to help cut the hay.  He had such a great day.  Sometimes things get really stressful for him in the summer, so I'm glad he was able to go to Star Valley and have such a great day.

 

Baseball

It's been such a fun baseball season.

Tonight was Jason's last game tonight.  He got some hits and fielded some balls.  He's really aggressive and he does really well.  He's fun to watch.

Nathan had a great game too.  Tonight, he played catcher and third base.

I'm not sure he loves playing catcher.  It's hot and he spends a lot of time chasing balls, but he does such a good job.  

                                        

Mike has been a good coach.  He works hard to make things fair and let kids play the positions they want every once in a while.  He's good to let them know when they need to be ready for the ball and what play is next.  He's doing a great job, but he can get super competitive and he almost got kicked out of the game tonight for sassing the ump.  :)

Bears and Sprinkler Pipes

Allie got to ride around with cousins the whole time we were in Yellowstone.  My mom sent me the pictures and it looks like they had a great time.

Lots of singing and crazy giggling.

They also got to see a bear.  So, that's pretty cool!

We left a bit earlier than Allie and headed back to Smoot.

There were kitties to play with and sprinkler pipe to move.

The boys like to ride the line as it creeps through the field.

Charlie always lives his best life in Star Valley.  It's so funny to watch him bound through the field.  He runs and then pops up super high every once in a while to see where he's going.  It's hilarious.

Every once in a while, he finds his way to the wheeler and hitches a ride.

It's always great to ride the motorcycles.

We got the job done and headed out.  Allie rode the rest of the way home with Grandma.  It was so fun to combine families and have fun with Schwabs and Johnsons.

Life is good!

Yellowstone and Such

The littles slept with cousins on the tramp.  They had a great time.

After waking up, we headed out to Yellowstone.

The Tetons never fail to impress.

Jason busied himself reading the map and learning about all the animals that we could see.

The others just lounged and talked.  The motorhome is so great for travel.

We met up with cousins to see the sights.  People were just starting to wear masks here, so we masked up at all the stops.

It was pretty sad for me to see so many masks out in the beautiful springs.

Yellowstone is always going to be a favorite place for me.

We had a nice camping spot in the park and ate a really good dinner of grilled pork chops.  Maybe we were just hungry, but I think we all ate happily.  The kids just really like anything off the grill and I don't usually go to the work of having things ready to grill because bringing raw meat in the motorhome isn't my favorite thing.  We'll have to make it a point to bring it next time.

It was such a good day, but also very crowded.  Cousins make it all worth going though.
