A Double

Nathan hit a double tonight.  It was pretty exciting.

Nathan played first base and snagged a few outs too.

It was a cold game and we were caught without much to keep us warm.
Good thing it was so exciting...it kept our blood pumping.

It was a magical game with a lovely rainbow at the end!

Work and Play

Star Valley!  We came up for the day.

We got to see some cousins and ride around a bit.

We played at the park.

We had fun.  Then we went fishing with some friends from home that happened to be camping in Star Valley.

We changed pipe before we left.

I don't have any pictures, but once again, it was hilarious to watch Charlie try to run through the tall field.

Pretty great day if you ask me!

A Life Jacket

We took the boat out!  It has been beeping for us when we start it up.  Our first time out, it wouldn't start.  The second time, it ran, but it beeped.  Tonight, it wouldn't stop beeping.
While Mike was figuring things out, we tested out Charlie's new life jacket.
I wouldn't say that he likes the water.  Not at all.

But he can swim.

And it's so cute.
We all love the handle.  It makes it easy to pick him up.

We were lucky to run into the owner of our local boat shop and he took our boat for a spin.  He let us know that there is a sensor that is acting up but it wouldn't hurt it to keep running it.  So we played for a little while.
Jason took a turn on the knee board.  He's a natural now.

Nathan did great too.

Allie skied.  She did great and is learning so fast.  It's fun to watch.

Jake didn't have a suit on, so he was just along for the ride.  But he loved it too.

We dropped the boat off at the boat shop when we were finished so they could fix the sensor and change things so it doesn't pre-mix the gas and oil.  We'll just mix it beforehand.  We can't wait to get out again!

Dodgers

Jason's on the Dodgers coach pitch team this year.  He loves it.  He strikes out a few times, but he hits nearly every other time.

He's competitive and likes to keep track of the score.  He goes after the ball if it's anywhere near him and is pretty good at coming up with it.  Go Dodgers!

The Cubs

The littles are both playing baseball this summer.  Nathan is in the minor league now where there are kid pitchers.  Mike is coaching his team and it has been so fun to watch his games.  (Barring the one game where the other kids were all nearly 5'6" and hitting the crap out of our poor little guy's pitches.  That game was no fun at all.)

Nate is a pretty good athlete and he does well out there.  Mike doesn't want to be accused of letting his own kid get all the play time so he switches things up, but Nate does well at any position he's in.
Tonight, he played 3rd base until our catcher took a hit from the ball and had to leave the game.  Then he caught for a few innings.
I think he looks cute in the catcher gear.  He just plain looks cute in a baseball uniform.  He's a cute kid.  :)

He got a base hit tonight too.  That's pretty exciting because with a kid pitcher, they spend a lot of the time walking the bases.

I'd forgotten how much I love baseball.  I guess when you're watching coach pitch and t-ball, it just isn't the same.  These kids can steal bases and that causes some excitement too.

It's been fun.  Go Cubs!
