Selfies

I just found these on the ipad and I had to share.  I'm not sure that they are selfies.  I think Nate took them of her, but they are still really funny.

First of all, I love that she's in the car.

 Oh...the teeth.

Who taught her that face?  Seriously?

Fun places to explore...

The boys are always finding fun places to wedge their bodies into.  I found a few of these pictures in the file and stuck them together for you.
This picture was obviously taken before I fixed Jason's hair.  I look at this now and wonder what in the world took me so long to fix it!  The poor boy!
Anyway, this is something these two love to do.  If I don't latch the door shut when I finish unloading the dishwasher, they find a way in.  Before I got the camera out, Jason was all the way in the dishwasher sitting on the bottom.

These pictures are even older.  Jason loves to find his way into the laundry room and toss clothes everywhere.  On this day, I took the clothes out and didn't close the dryer door.  When I came back down to put another load in, I found that he had taken their place.

Nate didn't want to be left out, so he hopped in too.

Allie was all stressed out that he was going to die, but I told her that it wasn't going to turn on unless I turned it on.  After that, she was excited to get in too.

Another favorite spot for the boys to sit is in the drawers of the entertainment center.  I'm surprised Jason isn't in his drawer.  I can take him out 15 times and he'd go back 15 times.  He just loves that perch.
If you aren't familiar with PAW Patrol, it's what's on the t.v. and it's a favorite for sure.  Both Jason and Nate will watch an entire episode and if that's not a miracle show, I don't know what is.

Another favorite is a box.  This one had a bunch of new diapers in it and then quickly became the toy of the hour.  I love how a box can entertain any kid for hours.

Some of the other fun places to explore that are not pictured are:
Behind the changing table in Jason's room.
Behind the clothes that hang in my closet.
Behind my dresser.
Under the bed in Jake's room.
In the "candy store" (food storage room).

I can't stand it when they both cram in behind the clothes that are hanging in my closet.  They knock clothes off the hangers and make a huge mess.  That's one of Nate's favorite places to poop.  He's becoming quite the private pooper "don't look at me Mom!"

They sure are cute though and it makes me happy to see them playing and exploring.

Teeth

Jake got his permanent retainer taken out and we enjoyed a week of lisp free talking and then he got a new retainer.  I took this picture the day after he got it and his teeth had already moved.  It's awesome!  It's pushing his teeth together and he is getting even more handsome.  He's bummed that he's not going to be able to fit a popsicle stick in between his "buck teeth" as he calls them.  I keep reminding him that his two front teeth are not actually called "buck teeth".  As for the popsicle stick trick, I'm okay with the loss because honestly, how often do you need that ability anyway?

A Fairy Note

A few weeks ago, I found this note on our front door.

It says "Lavendr I am vary nise I will nevr cach you I am Love Allie Schwab

Remember when Allie used to make fairy houses and put them on our front porch?  Well, one day, a fairy named Lavender left her a little note and some purple glitter.  Allie hasn't forgotten her and is trying to entice her to come back to our house again.
It totally makes me smile.  What a cute girl.

The last of the snow?

The rain has washed away the last of the snow at our house.  Who knows if we'll get more.  I would be okay with rain from here on out, but I do love that the mountains are getting snow.

We go outside a lot more now that the weather is warming up.  It's a nice change from the sad, crying mess that is usually inside in the hours before dinner.

This is the neighbor's dog.  Nate likes to try and walk him sometimes.

Nate and Jason both love to go outside.  I have to be on guard now because Nate opens the door and they both escape.  It was a worry free winter, but now I'm back on my game.  The snow on ground off the stairs of the deck used to keep them in that area, but now they are all over.
I left Jason in the back yard one day to take Nate in and change his diaper.  When I left, he was sitting on a big wheel, roaring his engine.  We weren't in the house long before I looked out the window and saw Jason making his way off the curb in the front yard and out into the road.  He made his way all around the house and into the road before I changed a poopy diaper.  It's going to be a wild summer for sure.  See you next year snow!

Payback

Jake didn't put away his Ripstik.  I reminded him at least 23 times.  It was raining and snowing and I was so annoyed.  So I picked it up and put it in a special spot.  When he wanted to use it, I reminded him that he never put it away and that he could earn it back if he would clean out my car.  We had just been down to Orem so there was a lot to do.

I was grateful to have a cleaner car.  I say "cleaner" because, let's face it, the boy doesn't know how to really clean yet.  But, if he doesn't start picking up things when I ask him to, he might get good fast.

Thanks Jake!  I hope you enjoy the ride.

Chalk

As soon as the weather started to warm up a bit, the kids were out doing summer time things.  They got their ripstiks out and then moved on to the sidewalk chalk.
These girls ended up coloring their faces.

Then Nate wanted in on it too.

Jason roamed around without shoes or pants.

While Nate stuck with a coat and gloves.  Crazy kids.

Grandpa Joe

Grandpa Joe retired from Simplot.  We had a little party for him in Star Valley.  The snow was coming down hard, but the kids still stayed out there and played on the snowmobiles.  I didn't get any pictures of that, but I did get the most important ones of the day...

 Joe with his cake!

Thanks Grandpa Joe for being a great example of a hard worker.  You worked through some hard years and now it's time to relax.  You told the grand kids that you'd take them to the drive in all summer long and I know for sure there will be some that take you up on that offer.  We love you!

Sled

I have a little sled decoration that I keep in the house that has a little snowman that rides on the sled.  I've had it a while and none of the other kids have even batted an eye at it.  Nate can't keep his hands off the sled.  He zooms it down every hilly surface in our house, and just the other day, he took his adventures outside.

I stopped taking pictures at this point because he had a crash and needed my help.  He did attempt to ride the sled down the hill.  It didn't work out so well :)

As for the snowman, he told me that the snowman belongs outside in the snow.  I have to rescue this guy from the cold, daily.
