Gone

Jake is off to school today.  I went to back to school night last night and met his teacher.  She seems really nice.  I'm sure he'll really enjoy his time with her.  I packed him a nice lunch today and put a little note in there...I'll miss him.  I'll miss having lunch with him and Allie and reading the Friend.  I won't miss the slamming doors that wake up Nate.  I guess there are trade offs. 
Any way you look at it, he is gone...

 Yep...that's Allie and her "soft blankie" waiting for the bus to come.  She doesn't get to start till next week.
