Remember how Allie and Jake used to love to help me make applesauce? They would probably be great helpers now that they are a bit older, but they are never around...especially at the times that I needed to be working. So, I recruited the next round of applesauce helpers. Nate was really good at washing the apples (and taste testing the smallest ones).
We mostly worked while Jason was sleeping, but when he woke up, he wanted to be in on it too. We ended up with 40 quarts of applesauce and had apples left over for making pie filling and frozen apples for us to eat over the winter. Pretty awesome! I love free apples! I'm glad the kids do too.
