He's Home!

Mike had to go on a business trip to Las Vegas and the kids missed him.  The night he came home, we had had a crazy day, so we were just snacking for dinner.  Jake had just come home from playing church ball (hence the pink shirt) and the littles were late for bed.  But we heard the garage door opening and everyone went crazy.  Mike brought food with him, so everyone sat down to have more dinner.  Mike told us a bit of his trip and tried to listen as the kids all talked at once about the things he had missed at home.  When we were winding down, he told the kids to gather around, close their eyes and hold out their hands.  He put a hundred dollar bill in each of their hands (including mine).  The kids were so excited.  Nate went straight to his piggy bank to count his money.  Allie split hers up right away into savings and tithing, Jason handed his off to me and went off to play with Legos and Jake put his in his pocket with a "thanks Dad!"

I slowed everyone down and told them that Dad had given us the prize that he had won for being in the top 5 salesmen of his entire company (hundreds of people).  It's a pretty big deal.  He had insane goals and still sold more than he's ever sold.  I always quote the Tommy Boy line that he could sell a ketchup popsicle to a woman in a white dress.
After 15 years selling school stuff, he knows the Utah and Idaho schools and he knows what they need.  He's just pretty awesome.  And I think it's pretty cool that when he came home, he could hardly wait to give his prize to us.  He does it all for us.  We are so lucky to have him.

Way to go Mike!
