We played at a park for a little while after being on the train. The kids roamed around and picked up right where they all left off and played together so well.
Grandma had some games and adventures for them. The theme was "Johnsons follow the golden rule". I didn't hear the fun story she told them, but I know there were lizards and afterwards, they went off and found gold nuggets in the park to trade for treasures at the trading post.
Jason told his story about the Mexican magician who told everyone he'd disappear on the count of three. "Uno, dos, and he disappeared without a tres..." It's originally Jake's joke, but Jason thinks he's the funniest kid around when he tells it. So we let him do it.
There was also a cheesy interactive story.
...and then more playing with the treasures they had bought with their gold. The boys raced cars on the rail for a long time.
My nephew has a service dog in training. His name is Jack and he is so cute. He is so well behaved and calm that it made us all want a Jack at our house.
It was just really fun to be together.
We came back to the hotel to swim and got a big family picture with everyone, but it's on Mom's camera. It was a really short trip and a lot of drive time, but it was so good to see everyone. I love that my kids have good relationships with their cousins and I really like seeing my siblings. My mom is so good to get us together like this. With us spread so far apart, it can seem like a challenge, but she is great to make it happen. Thanks Mom! Thanks family! Love you all!
