A Lost Tooth and Lady Bird Johnson

We woke up and got on the road to drive further into Redwood National Park.  We wanted to go on the Lady Bird Johnson trail.
Jason had woken up and lamented about a tooth that had been bugging him.  He wiggled and wiggled until he got it out.  He and Allie have both lost teeth on a family vacation now.  Allie's was a molar on the road from New York to Washington DC.  Jason's was a second bicuspid on the bottom row.

The hike was beautiful.  I guess Lady Bird Johnson made efforts to keep the giant sequoias from being decimated by loggers back in the day.  So this hike is a short little loop and has a monument to her.

We loved seeing how many amazing things were on this short little hike.  A lot of the trees had been damaged by a fire, but were still able to grow onward and upward.

Pictures don't do this forest justice.  It's honestly a futile attempt to show the beauty, but I had to try.

These clover type plants were so cool.  The top was green and the underside, purple.

After our hike, we had lunch and then ventured to see Big Tree.  We took some of the same pictures we did in April 2017.

I'm including the 2017 pics so you can see how much my stinking cute kids have grown...

...I'm sure the tree grew too.  :)
